Dale Smith re-acclaimed as Reeve for MD of Greenview

During the annual organizational meeting held on Monday, Dale Smith was been re-acclaimed as the Reeve for the Municipal District of Greenview.

Councillor Bill Smith was also appointed as Deputy Reeve at the meeting.

Reeve Smith, who holds a Degree in Agricultural Science, has been a Councillor in the MD of Greenview since 2013. During the course of his public service, Smith has served on a number of municipal boards, including the Agriculture Services Board; Heart River Housing Foundation; Water North Coalition; and Smoky Applied Research and Demonstration Association.

Smith has been Reeve of the MD of Greenview since May of 2019, replacing Dale Gervais in the role.

“I am honoured by the support of my fellow Council members to continue to serve the Municipal District of Greenview for another term as Reeve,” said Reeve Dale Smith in a release.

“We plan to carry on the excellent work accomplished by Council this year by continuing to move forward with improvements to Greenview infrastructure, roads, and investment in our communities.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Reeve Smith thanks the Council for the appointment and the confidence they are showing in him, saying “I look forward to taking on this new role and continuing to work alongside my fellow Councillors and administration to serve our ratepayers and stakeholders.”

The appointment of Reeve and Deputy Reeve are held annually during the organizational meeting.
