Township Road 711

Spring Creek Rd. closed until further notice for bridge culvert replacement

The County of Grande Prairie says Spring Creek Road (Township Road 711) between Range Road 71 and 72, south of Dimsdale, is closed until further notice to replace a bridge culvert and to conduct road repairs.

The repairs come following the damage caused by a slumping slope in the summer of 2019, which was the result of repeated wet weather. The road was reopened last November, with restrictions though until the project gained needed approval.

Local traffic is asked to detour using Township Road 712, Range Road 73, Township Road 710, and Range Road 71. Heavy truck traffic over one ton is advised to detour on Range Road 72A and Highway 43.

The County says the project, which comes from a $5 million investment from the County, also involves repaving of the road which will be completed during the 2021 construction season.
