Bjorklund brothers pace Storm to second straight win over Oil Barons

The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent delay to the start of the WHL season has given brothers Paycen and Garin Bjorklund a rare opportunity to suit up on the same team.

On Saturday, the Grande Prairie natives gave hometown fans a lot to cheer about.

20 year old Paycen – who spent the past few seasons with the Tri City Americans – scored twice and added an assist, while 18 year Garin – a Medicine Hat Tiger and 2020 6th round draft pick of the NHL’s Washington Capitals – stopped 26 shots to power the Storm to a 3-2 win over the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Nathaniel Bierd had the other goal for the Storm while Sasha Mutala added three assists, as the Storm completed a weekend sweep of the MOB to improve to 4-and-2 in the pre-season.
