Freezing rain warning issued for Peace River area, B.C. Peace

A freezing rain warning has been issued by Environment Canada for the Peace River area.

The weather office says a band of freezing rain has developed near Peace River and is expected to expand eastward this evening and overnight before ending by Wednesday morning.

The warning also takes in the High Prairie, Fairview and Manning regions. There is also a freezing rain warning in place for the B.C. Peace Region.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.”

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
