Nov 7, 2020 | 3:48 PM

Alberta added 919 new cases of COVID-19 for Friday, November 6, while five more deaths were linked to the disease over the last 24 hours.

The increase is the highest single day case count in the province, surpassing the 802 recorded back on Wednesday, November 4.

The five deaths linked to COVID-19 bring the province’s death toll to 357. Of those five fatalities, one was a man in 90s linked to the outbreak at the Mayerthorpe Extendicare.

Due to the ongoing technical issues with the province’s COVID-19 reporting system, a more detailed breakdown of the new case numbers in Alberta cannot be provided. The province says those detailed statistics, including an updated case count for each municipal area and a breakdown of zone hospitalizations, will be made available on Monday, November 9.

As of the most recent detailed breakdown, for the end of day November 3, the City of Grande Prairie had 91 active cases, while the County of Grande Prairie had 27.
