Five new COVID-19 cases in Grande Prairie, nine more recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added five new cases of COVID-19 for Thursday, while also posting nine more recoveries to drop the City’s active case total to 84.

The new cases come as there were no new cases reported in the County of Grande Prairie along with two more recoveries, where there are now 20 active cases.

Six new cases were identified in the MD of Greenview area along with one more recovery, where there are now 22 active cases.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day November 12 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 373 cases (84 active, 287 recovered, two deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 123 cases (20 active, 102 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 47 cases (22 active, 24 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Five cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 28 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (four active, four recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 77 cases (one active, 66 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 54 cases (one active, 48 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 31 cases (six active, 25 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 82 cases (40 active, 42 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 46 cases (18 active, 28 recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (one active, 96 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 15 cases (five active, ten recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 62 cases (one active, 61 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 420 cases (four active, 403 recovered, 13 deaths)

The province added 907 new cases of COVID-19 for November 12, while also posting five more fatalities linked to COVID-19, bringing the province’s death toll to 398.

Hospitalizations continue to climb in Alberta, now hitting 240 in the province, 54 of whom are in intensive care. A total of 132 of those people are in hospital in the Edmonton Zone.

Hospitalizations remain low in the North Zone, with eight people in hospital, three of whom are in an ICU.
