Multiple Grey Cup champion linebacker Mark Kosmos passes away at the age of 75

OTTAWA — Former linebacker Mark Kosmos, who won four Grey Cup titles with three separate teams over eight CFL seasons, has died. He was 75.

An obiturary published in the Ottawa Citizen said he Kosmos died Wednesday following a lengthy illness.

The six-foot, 235-pound Kosmos was native of Baltimore who began his CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes in 1970. He joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1972 before being dealt to the Ottawa Rough Riders, the team he finished his pro tenure with (1973-77).

Kosmos earned Grey Cup titles with Montreal (1970), Hamilton (1972) and the Riders (1973, ’76). He was a CFL all-star twice (1971, ’76) and in 2006 was inducted into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame.
