Alberta records 1,026 new COVID-19 cases

Alberta topped 1,000 new daily cases of COVID-19 for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.

The province is reporting 1,026 new cases for November 13, along with three COVID-19 related fatalities (two in the Edmonton Zone, one in the Calgary Zone), pushing the provincial death toll to 401.

The statistics provided by Alberta Health on Saturday are limited, and a detailed breakdown on local cases will next be provided on Monday, November 16.

Sixteen more people are in hospital in the province, bringing the provincial total to 256 as of the end of day Friday. A total of 54 of those individuals are in an ICU.

A COVID-19 outbreak was declared by Alberta Health Services at the Fairview Health Complex on Saturday morning, after three healthcare workers tested positive and a patient case is being investigated.

As of November 12, the latest local statistics provided for the Grande Prairie area, there are 84 active cases in the City of Grande Prairie, while there are 20 in the County of Grande Prairie.
