Bjorklund spectacular as Storm take season opener

It may not have been the prettiest of efforts, but at the end of the night it was two points in the win column for the Grande Prairie Storm.

Despite heavily outplaying the Storm at times, the Bonnyville Pontiacs could only put one shot past Grande Prairie netminder Garin Bjorklund, who made 42 saves to pace his hometown club to a 5-1 win in the regular season opener for both teams.

Sasha Mutala, Zac Sirota, Edge Lambert, Cade Mason and Ethan Strang scored for the Storm, who tallied three of their goals on the power play.

The re-match between the two teams goes Saturday night at 7, also at Revolution place.
