
Fentanyl, meth and weapons seized in Grande Prairie following investigation
A nearly two-month long investigation has led to the seizure of drugs and weapons and three people being charged with offences in Grande Prairie.
On September 26, the Grande Prairie RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) began an investigation into drug trafficking. As a result of that investigation the CRU, along with assistance from the Grande Prairie Municipal Drug Unit and general duty members executed two search warrants at two apartments in downtown Grande Prairie on November 12.
During those searches, officers discovered and seized:
- Approximately 61 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 16 grams of suspected cocaine
- Approximately 28 grams of suspected crystal meth
- Approximately $2,400 in Canadian currency
- A crossbow and five types of firearm munition
- Two stolen passports
- Stolen property
