Peace Curling Tour going ahead

Nov 18, 2020 | 1:31 PM

The Peace Curling Tour is underway.

Two events have already been held, all with COVID protocols in place.

Sixteen teams competed in three divisions at the Slave Lake Petroleum Association Cash Spiel November 6 to 8.

The Delia DeJong team from Grande Prairie won the Challenge Division, while the Tracy Steinke/Scott Webb team from Dawson Creek took the Competitive Division and Team McSamderson from Slave Lake won the Junior Division.

Dawson Creek hosted the Challenge Division part of the Mile Zero Cash Spiel this past weekend. Twelve teams took part with Team Glen Roszmann winning the final.

The Competitive Division part will start Friday and run through Sunday.

The two were spread over separate weekends because of COVID rules in BC.

Grande Prairie will host the Challenge Division, Sexsmith the Competitive Division December 4 to 6. All three divisions will be in Peace River January 23 and 24.

The Tour finals are tentatively set for March in Sexsmith.
