Grande Prairie adds eight new COVID-19 cases, Alberta adds 1,105

The City of Grande Prairie added eight new cases of COVID-19 for November 18, while the province added a record daily total of 1,105 new cases.

The City also recorded seven more recoveries, raising the active case total by one to 84 as of the end of day Wednesday.

The County of Grande Prairie has six new cases along with one recovery, leaving 37 active cases there.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day November 18 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 419 cases (84 active, 332 recovered, three deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 152 cases (37 active, 114 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 64 cases (31 active, 32 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Five cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 28 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (four active, four recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 78 cases (two active, 66 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 54 cases (one active, 48 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 32 cases (seven active, 25 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 96 cases (36 active, 60 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 52 cases (15 active, 37 recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (one active, 96 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 15 cases (one active, 14 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 65 cases (four active, 61 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 424 cases (five active, 406 recovered, 13 deaths)

Hospitalizations increased to 13 in the North Zone, one of whom is in intensive care. In Alberta, there are 284 people in hospital, 61 of whom are in an ICU.

Eight more Albertans have died from COVID-19 complications, bringing the provincial death toll to 451.

There are 10,382 active cases across Alberta, 658 of which are in the North Zone.
