Storm hit road for pair of games in Spruce Grove

Nov 20, 2020 | 11:33 AM

The Grande Prairie Storm will hit the road for the first time this season, as they make the trip down Highway 43 to face the Spruce Grove Saints.

The Storm are coming off of a weekend series split against the Bonnyville Pontiacs. They won their home opener against the Pontiacs 5-1. On the second night of the back to back, they were shut out 3-0.

On the other side, the Saints are coming off of a weekend sweep over the Sherwood Park Crusaders.

The Saints have a lot of new faces in their lineup. The club currently has nine WHL players in its lineup, six of whom played for the Seattle Thunderbirds last season.

For the first time this regular season, Storm Head Coach and General Manager Mike Vandekamp will be behind his club’s bench. Vandekamp couldn’t coach in the Storm’s two games last week because of a suspension he picked up in the BCHL last season.

Puck drop for both games this weekend is at 7:00 p.m. and can be viewed on HockeyTV.
