Four new COVID-19 cases in Grande Prairie, 1,336 in Alberta

For the third consecutive day, the Province of Alberta broke it’s single day COVID-19 record, adding 1,336 new cases of COVID-19 for Friday, November 20. There are 11,274 active cases in the province.

Of those new cases added in the province for Friday, four new cases were recorded in the City of Grande Prairie and one new case was added in the M.D. of Greenview.

There are 82 active cases in the City of Grande Prairie, while the M.D. of Greenview has 32 active cases.

The Swan City also saw six recoveries, the M.D. of Greenview had one recovery and the County of Grande Prairie also had one recovery. There were no new cases added in the County on Friday.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day November 20 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 434 cases (82 active, 348 recovered, four deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 154 cases (38 active, 116 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 67 cases (32 active, 34 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Five cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 28 cases (all recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (four active, four recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 78 cases (two active, 66 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 55 cases (two active, 48 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 32 cases (five active, 27 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 98 cases (30 active, 68 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 52 cases (nine active, 43 recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (97 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 15 cases (one active, 14 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 66 cases (five active, 61 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 427 cases (eight active, 406 recovered, 13 deaths)

As of Friday, hospitalizations across the province grew by ten to 320, while ICU patients dropped by two from 58 to 56.

In the North Zone there are 19 people in hospital, an increase from four in the last 24 hours, while one more patient was admitted to the ICU. There are now two people in the ICU in the North Zone.

Nine more people have died as a result of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the death toll as a result of COVID-19 to 471. None of those new deaths were in the North Zone.

Over the last 24 hours, 19,239 tests were completed. The province had a 6.9 per cent positivity rate among those tests.
