Third period comeback powers Saints to shoot out win over Storm

A three goal third period allowed the Spruce Grove Saints to erase a pair of two goal deficits, en route to a 4-3 shoot out win over the Grande Prairie Storm on Friday night.

Paycen Bjorklund, Brett Meerman and Max Giangualano scored for the Storm, who held a 2-0 lead going into the third, and also led 3-1 in the period before the Saints scored twice in the final 10 minutes to force extra time.

In the shoot out, Ethan Strang was the only Storm player to score, as the shoot out went six rounds before the Saints pulled out the win.

For the third straight game, netminder Garin Bjorklund faced over 35 shots in the Storm net, as he turned aside 46 shots on the night.
