Fog advisory issued for Grande Prairie, Peace River areas

A fog advisory has been issued for the Grande Prairie-Beaverlodge-Valleyview forecast area by Environment Canada Monday afternoon.

The advisory expands north to the Peace River and Manning, and east to Fox Creek and Slave Lake.

The weather office adds that near-zero visibility from fog is expected or occurring in some areas of the region. They add ice has been reported to have been forming on some surfaces as well.

Environment Canada says the fog is expected to dissipate overnight as winds pick up from the west.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.”
