A Grande Prairie pair are facing firearms charges following a traffic stop in the City last week.

Just after midnight of November 19, RCMP were patrolling in the area of 96 Street and 108 Avenue when they spotted a vehicle with an obstructed licence plate.

During the resulting traffic stop the driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested, after police found and seized a loaded 12-gauge shotgun and shells.

Both are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on December 23.
