Nov 29, 2020 | 3:50 PM

The City and County of Grande Prairie have dropped below 100 combined active cases of COVID-19 as of the end of day November 28.

The City added six new cases of COVID-19 alongside eight recoveries for Saturday, bringing the active case total in the Swan City to 68.

The County of Grande Prairie added two new cases alongside four recoveries, bringing the active caseload in that area to 28 as of the same time.

With that, there are now 96 active cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday between the two municipalities. If the two municipalities combine to keep the active case total below 100 for 14 uninterrupted days, the Temporary Mandatory Face Covering (Mask) Bylaw (Bylaw C-1426) in the City of Grande Prairie would be taken out of force.

The Bylaw, which has been in place since October 26, makes it mandatory to wear a face covering in all indoor, enclosed, or substantially enclosed public spaces and public vehicles in the City, unless the person is separated from others by an installed screen, shield or other barrier
