Grande Prairie adds 13 new COVID-19 cases, four recoveries

The City of Grande Prairie added 13 new cases of COVID-19 for Sunday alongside four recoveries, bringing the City’s active case total to 77 as of the end of day November 29.

There was also one new case reported in the County of Grande Prairie alongside six more recoveries. There are now 23 active cases there.

That brings the combined active case total between the two municipalities as of the end of day Sunday to 100.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day November 29 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 488 cases (77 active, 407 recovered, four deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 172 cases (23 active, 148 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 90 cases (30 active, 59 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Six cases (one active, five recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 31 cases (three active, 28 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Nine cases (one active, eight recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 79 cases (one active, 68 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 63 cases (nine active, 49 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 57 cases (25 active, 32 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 128 cases (34 active, 94 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 52 cases (two active, 49 recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (97 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 20 cases (five active, 15 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 69 cases (five active, 64 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 430 cases (seven active, 410 recovered, 13 deaths)

The province added a record daily total of 1,733 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, while 20,499 tests were completed. Those tests came with a positivity rate of 8.5 per cent.

There are 453 people in hospital in Alberta, 96 of whom are in an ICU. In the North Zone there are 25 people in hospital, two of whom are in an ICU.

Eight more deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported on Monday. Alberta’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 541.
