One new COVID-19 case in Grande Prairie, eight more recoveries

There was one new case of COVID-19 identified in the City of Grande Prairie for November 30 alongside eight recoveries. That brings the City’s active case total to 70 to close out the month of November.

There were no new cases reported in the County of Grande Prairie. It now has 21 active cases as there were two more recoveries.

The MD of Greenview saw three new cases added along with four recoveries. There are now 29 active cases there.

Updated case totals among Peace Region municipalities as of the end of day November 30 are as follows.

  • City of Grande Prairie: 489 cases (70 active, 415 recovered, four deaths)
  • County of Grande Prairie: 172 cases (21 active, 150 recovered, one death)
  • M.D. of Greenview: 93 cases (29 active, 63 recovered, one death)
  • Birch Hills County: Six cases (one active, five recovered)
  • M.D. of Spirit River: 31 cases (three active, 28 recovered)
  • Saddle Hills County: Eight cases (all recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 79 cases (one active, 68 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 65 cases (11 active, 49 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: 63 cases (31 active, 32 recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: 128 cases (34 active, 94 recovered)
  • M.D. of Fairview: 52 cases (one active, 50 recovered, one death)
  • Clear Hills County: 98 cases (97 recovered, one death)
  • Northern Sunrise County: 22 cases (seven active, 15 recovered)
  • County of Northern Lights: 69 cases (four active, 65 recovered)
  • Mackenzie County: 432 cases (six active, 413 recovered, 13 deaths)

The province added 1,307 new cases for Monday following the completion of 15,816 tests. Dr. Deena Hinshaw says the province’s positivity rate is sitting at around 8.4 per cent.

Hospitalizations in Alberta grew to 479 as of November 30, 245 of whom are in the Edmonton Zone and 154 in the Calgary Zone. Of those 479 people in hospital, 97 have been admitted to intensive care.

In the North Zone, there are 27 people in hospital, two of whom are in an ICU.

There were 10 more deaths linked to COVID-19 reported in Alberta. There have now been 551 Albertans who have died from COVID-19 complications.
