AQHRA gives awards to local horses, connections

Three owners from the Peace Country came home with an armful of trophies from the 2020 Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association Awards.

Sexsmith’s Chuck Stojan was named Champion Owner.

Stojan’s Getit Hot was named Champion Aged horse while another from his stable, Getit Foose, was named Reserve Champion Three-Year-Old.

Two people affiliated with Stojan’s operation also won awards.

William Leech has been named Champion Trainer and Champion Percentage Trainer.

Ricardo Moreno is the Champion Jockey.

Donalda Cochrane from Fort St. John has horses that won three awards.

Halos Sign is the Champion Alberta Bred Two-Year-Old Filly and Reserve Two-Year-Old champion.

Papas Coleen is the Champion Claiming Horse.

Bezanson’s Bruce Fenton is the owner of Ss Frosty, who was named the Champion Distance Horse.
