Four charged following seizure of forged I.D. documents, currency from Westpointe home
A search of a home in Westpointe by the Grande Prairie RCMP has led to the arrest of several people and the recovery of a “significant amount” of forged documents.
The search was done on November 15, after police received a tip from the public. It led to the seizure of many forged and fraudulent documents, currency, and equipment to create both, including:
- fraudulent PAL (Firearms Possession & Acquisition Licence) cards
- fraudulent credit and debit cards
- numerous fraudulent cheques, including those labelled as Government of Canada cheques
- fraudulent Identification cards (such as Alberta and Ontario driver’s licences)
- counterfeit currency
- computers, printers, laminator machines, printing paper
- other equipment used to create fraudulent cards & ID
Body armour and ammunition were also recovered during the search.
