UPDATE: Man arrested following incident near Grovedale

UPDATE (2:05 p.m.): Police say one man has been taken into custody following an incident south of Grovedale Saturday.

At around 9:30 a.m., RCMP say they were called to a residence south of Grovedale, where officers, the Police Dog Service and Crime Reduction Team attended. One man was later arrested without incident.

The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending. No further details are being made available at this time.

“Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in avoiding the area during this situation.”

The Grande Prairie RCMP say there is a heavy police presence south of Grovedale, as they respond to an incident.

RCMP and Police Dog Services are on scene, and they are asking residents in the area to stay indoors and for the public to avoid the area. They also ask that police activity not be broadcast on social media.
