Dec 13, 2020 | 8:00 AM

One person had to be pulled from a vehicle late Friday night after it went over an embankment in the Red Willow river valley near Halcourt.

Crews from Beaverlodge, Wembley and the Dunes fire stations were called to the scene just before 11 pm on Friday, with Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue being called in once the vehicle was not located on any roadway.

The vehicle was found about 40 metres down a sharp drop off towards the Red Willow river.

Technical Search and Rescue and fire personnel deployed rope rescue technicians and equipment to extract one person from the vehicle and transport them up the embankment and to a nearby ambulance.
