Drugs seized following ALERT raid of Whitecourt home

Dec 17, 2020 | 1:01 PM

On December 10, ALERT raided a suspected drug home in Whitecourt.

During the raid, ALERT seized methamphetamine and fentanyl. Evidence of drug trafficking was noted by the presence of packing materials, scales, and discarded needles.

In a release, ALERT says that the home was reportedly a haven for drug activity and generated a number of community complaints.

The Whitecourt RCMP say that the drug home was located in a rather safe and quite neighbourhood.

“Both Whitecourt RCMP and Mayerthorpe RCMP provided really good intelligence about drug trafficking concerns. ALERT was able to connect it back to this residence and take swift enforcement action,” said Staff Sgt. Lance Parker, ALERT Edmonton.

The RCMP say that there were eight people inside the home at the time of the search. Charges are currently being contemplated by the RCMP, however, at this time no charges have been laid.
