McLennan RCMP seeking information on theft of Christmas lights from Birdwalk

Dec 18, 2020 | 8:33 AM

The RCMP in McLennan are calling on those responsible for the theft of Christmas lights from the McLennan Birdwalk to come forward.

Police in the community say sometime between December 4 and 7, three strands of lights were stolen from the trees around the gazebo at the Birdwalk.

They say the lights were put up by a group of volunteers who would appreciate getting the lights back.

“A group of local volunteers in the community spend countless hours decorating local attractions in the town to brighten the holiday spirit for residents and travellers passing through the area,” say RCMP. “The individual(s) responsible have made the holiday a little less bright this past week.”

Those responsible or anyone who has information that could help identify those responsible are asked to come forward to the McLennan RCMP at 780-324-3086 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
