Camp Tamarack receives $50,000 grant from province
Officials with Camp Tamarack say the camp has received a big boost thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Government of Alberta.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, summer camps across the province had to be cancelled. Kent Belke with Camp Tamarack says this is a big deal.
“We had to cancel all of our summer programs, outdoor education programs and all of our rentals of the facility. It basically left us with no income except for donations and grants.”
“Thanks to this grant, we’ve got money to pay for maintenance on the camp, the utilities, insurance and those other fixed costs that just don’t go away. We’re so thankful for the Alberta Government for coming through and helping out with this. It’s just huge.”
