Amid Uncertainty, restrictions

Peace Region Petroleum Show pushed to 2022

With continued uncertainty amidst COVID-19 restrictions, as well as the pandemic’s impact on the oil and gas industry, the Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce and the Grande Prairie Petroleum Association have jointly decided to move the 2021 Peace Region Petroleum Show to 2022.

In a release, the two organizations say the decision to push the show back by a year was made based partly on input from a survey of past exhibitors and attendees, as well as the difficulties the oil and gas sector and the trade show industry have been hit with during the pandemic.

“We believe allowing another year for the industry to continue to evolve and adapt to the ever-changing landscape is the logical way to proceed,” said Trevor Denis, the President of the Petroleum Association.

“This gives companies time to reassess their financial positions and hopefully see some positive traction from announced programs and projects.”

With the schedule change, the next Peace Region Petroleum Show is slated to go on May 18 and 19, 2022 at Evergreen Park.

“The current climate full of travel restrictions, health and safety restrictions, and budget cutbacks combined with immense uncertainty, all contributed to the decision to postpone,” said Tanya Oliver, the CEO of the chamber and Manager of the Petroleum Show.

“We look forward to continuing to work with our partners at the Grande Prairie Petroleum Association to breathe new life into our show and make 2022 a huge success for the industry partners and region.”

The industry trade show has taken place every other year since 1995, which typically attracts hundreds of exhibitors, along with thousands of visitors, to bring about connections in the oil and gas sector.
