Dual fireworks shows to help ring in 2021 in Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie will be holding two fireworks displays Thursday night to help ring in the new year.

The dual fireworks shows will be held at the CKC East Football Field (the field east of St. Joseph’s Catholic High School) and the Muskoseepi Park Reservoir, starting at 10 p.m. on December 31.

Hayley Kramps with the City of Grande Prairie told EverythingGP earlier this month the fireworks show will look very similar to how were for the Canada Day fireworks.

“We will be using aerial fireworks, so wherever you park in the surrounding areas in the two locations, you will be able to see them. They should go up quite high so you shouldn’t be able to miss them.”

Kramps said there will be no public washrooms available at either show. All residents attending the events are asked to remain inside their vehicles once they’ve arrived for the fireworks show, as per COVID-19 safety guidelines.

“We are really excited to be able to do this again,” said Kramps “We are really excited to have a community excited for it.”
