Cars for Christmas Lottery gears up for 12 days of Christmas draw

Jan 10, 2021 | 6:00 AM

The Cars for Christmas lottery is gearing up for it’s 12 Days of Christmas draw on January 12.

Starting on Monday, every day on Big Country 93.1 and Q99, a winning name will be drawn for each prize pack until January 23.

Every day throughout the 12 Days of Christmas, the prizes get bigger and better and are valued at thousands of dollars.

“We’re looking forward to that and it’s fun for the next 12 days starting January 12 until the 23rd, there will be a winner announced every day,” said Dave Cook, the Lottery Chair for the Cars for Christmas lottery.

The winners from the 12 days of Christmas draw will also be posted on their website.

Cook says so far up to this point the Cars for Christmas campaign has been a major success.

“There were a lot of challenges, but I was really pleased with the organization of our volunteers and also the partner groups in giving the effort to help themselves and to pull everything together. We’re very happy with the results considering the challenges with the pandemic and the challenges with the local economy as well.”

Once the Cars for Christmas lottery is done, the organization will shift their attention to the Cash for Camping lottery.

Cook tells EverythingGP that after last year’s camping lottery was cancelled because of COVID-19, they’re ready to get things up and running once again.

“We’re opening up this year and we’re looking forward to that and we’ve got some great prizes. We kind of got a theme (this year) of staycations. There’s a strong support of local businesses in terms of supplying us with our prizes. I think it’s going to be very successful.”

Cook also mentioned that all of the money raised from the lottery stays within the community and most of the business that they do is within the community.
