Nominations open for next General Election in City and County of Grande Prairie

Nominations for the next General Election in the City and County of Grande Prairie are now open.

Nominations for City and County of Grande Prairie Council, and area School Board Trustee positions, are open to anyone that is a Canadian citizen. Those interested in running must have been a resident of the City or County for at least six consecutive months prior to Nomination Day and must be 18 years old.

The next elections take place on October 18, 2021.

Those that are elected will represent the City, or one of nine divisions in the County for a four-year term on Council.

Those interested in running for council or school board trustee can do so by filling out an information package at the City or County website, depending on where they live.

Applications for candidates will be accepted until Noon Monday, September 20.
