Company donating 1,100 cookies to Grande Prairie Public School Division teachers Friday

A local disposal company is giving back to teachers in the Grande Prairie Public School Division on their PD (personal development) Day on Friday.

Green for Life (GFL) says it will deliver over 1,100 cookies to teachers and staff throughout the Grande Prairie Public School Division as a thank-you for their hard work and dedication over the last year.

“Teachers are front line workers. They’ve been working under the COVID-19 pandemic, coming to work every day and providing a great service to the students in Grande Prairie,” said Brad Letain with GFL.

“There’s been a lot of volatility, especially in terms of having the kids in class and then having online learning, so there have been lots of changes in their lives. We just wanted to give back and say thank-you, and I know it’s a very small token, but if we can say thank-you in the form of a cookie, it’s the least we can do.”

The over 1,100 cookies will be dropped off at the schools on Friday morning and all COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed.

Letain tells EverythingGP this definitely won’t be the last time they do something like this.

“It’s a local initiative that we’re doing right now and we will be doing a lot more of these initiatives moving forward.”

The Grande Prairie Public School Division says they’re very thankful for this generous gesture of recognition and know the staff will be very appreciative.
