Shandro slams Ottawa’s “failure” to secure COVID-19 vaccine supply
Alberta’s Health Minister says the federal government has not done an adequate job to ensure that Canadians are able to get vaccinated against COVID-19, as his ministry has been informed of further cutbacks to Alberta’s vaccine supply.
The rollbacks were first announced on January 15, when Shandro told Albertans production issues at Pfizer-BioNTech’s plant in Belgium would temporarily limit supply to certain countries, including Canada, as the plant worked to reconfigure to increase its output capacity.
However, it appears that things have not gotten better as expected in the days since.
“For the third time this month, the federal government has notified us through bureaucratic channels that Alberta’s Pfizer vaccine allocation will be slashed yet again.
