Wembley fire hall broken into Thursday morning

Feb 4, 2021 | 10:45 AM

The Wembley Fire Department says the fire hall in the community was broken into early Thursday morning, and they are hoping the community can help identify the individual responsible and report it to the RCMP.

In a Facebook post, the fire department says that at around 4:45 Thursday morning, an individual was able to force their way into the building, where they stole an “undisclosed amount of assets”. The items taken were not revealed, as the investigation is still ongoing.

A spokesperson for the fire department says RCMP arrived soon afterwards to begin investigating the incident, after an alert resident spotted suspicious activity at the fire hall and called the police.

Now the fire department is asking anyone in the community who has any information about the incident, or who can help identify the individual involved, to report it to the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
