Extreme cold warning issued for Peace River-Fairview-High Prairie-Manning areas
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the Peace River-Fairview-High Prairie and Manning areas.
According to Environment Canada, a multi-day episode of very cold wind chills is expected, as temperatures throughout the Peace Region are expected to drop down into the -30s and -40s, while wind chills could have temperatures feeling like -50.
The weather office advises anyone who goes outside should dress warmly, as well as have a wind-resistant outer layer.
It adds “If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Outdoor workers should also take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.”
