Feb 8, 2021 | 3:43 PM

The City of Grande Prairie recorded 12 new cases of COVID-19 for Sunday while also adding one more recovery, raising the active case total in the city to 166 as of the end of day February 7.

The County of Grande Prairie, meantime, added five new cases, bringing the active case load in the area to 39.

One of the deaths previously reported in the County has also been removed, as Alberta Health says four previously reported deaths in the province have been determined post-mortem to not have COVID-19 as a contributing cause, therefore the cases have been removed.

With that, the net increase in the provincial deaths for Monday’s update is one, after five new deaths were reported. There have now been three deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the County, with 1,710 recorded across Alberta.
