Lingering extreme cold alters city’s Family Festivities in the Park schedule

Feb 12, 2021 | 2:54 PM

The extreme cold has led the City of Grande Prairie to once again need to alter some of the plans for its Family Festivities in Muskoseepi Park.

Snow luge, snowman kits, and children’s activities have all been cancelled for Saturday, but are currently scheduled to be available for Sunday and Family Day Monday.

Tobogganing, snow-shoeing, and skating can still go ahead Saturday, but at the participant’s own discretion. The city asks that participants currently registered, and who are planning on attending for tobogganing and skating, still check-in at the Ernie Radbourne Pavillion for their time slot, as well as their free hot chocolate from New Horizon Co-op.

All of the above-mentioned events are planned to go ahead Sunday and Monday. Anyone who would like to take part must pre-register for a time slot. This can be done on the city’s website.
