COVID-19 outbreak announced at Rotary House, other Grande Prairie sites
An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Rotary House in Grande Prairie, the second outbreak to be declared at the shelter during the pandemic.
Alberta Health spokesperson Tom McMillan tells EverythingGP that there are 14 cases linked to the outbreak, all of which are active.
This follows an outbreak that was declared in late 2020, which had 40 cases linked to it, all of which have recovered.
At the time of the first outbreak, the city and partner agencies said they had protocols in place to deal with such outbreaks at the facility, which offers shelter and supports for those who are experiencing homelessness, as well as other clientele.
