Grain Act Review consultation open through April

An online consultation on the federal government’s review of the Canada Grain Act will be open through April 30.

It is being done through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s website.

Producer payment options, licensing of grain buyers, and inspections and weighing are some of the topics included in a discussion paper.

The Alberta Canola Producers Commission is encouraging farmers to take part and says it welcomes the review.

The Canada Grain Act has not been updated in over 40 years.
