Two charged after Horse Lake armed robbery, forcible confinement report

Feb 25, 2021 | 2:42 PM

Beaverlodge RCMP say a report of an armed robbery and forcible confinement from Horse Lake has led to charges against two people.

Details have not been released, other than to say it happened on February 18.

A search of a Horse Lake home four days later led to the arrest of 33-year-old Tyler Justin Horseman. He is facing charges that include robbery with a firearm, forcible confinement, four weapons-related counts, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Mounties say while in the area after the search, they got word on the whereabouts of a second suspect.

When police tried a traffic stop, the suspect took off, driving in what RCMP describe as “a dangerous manner through a nearby field.”

The vehicle got stuck and the second suspect was arrested. A loaded, prohibited shotgun was found inside that vehicle.

The 19 charges against 21-year-old Brayden Michael Morrison of Grande Prairie include robbery with a firearm, forcible confinement, and flight from a peace officer.

Both have been remanded and are due in Grande Prairie court March 3.
