Clairmont business donating 100% of wash bay profits to Ronald McDonald House in March

Versatile Lube in Clairmont says it will donate all of its wash bay profits earned in the month of March to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Alberta.

Andrew Sheppard is the Owner of Versatile Lube and says he got inspired to donate to the Ronald McDonald House, after he saw the experience a close family member had to go through.

“We’ve recently had a close family member need the assistance of Ronald McDonald House and I just thought it would be a good idea (to donate). I would never want to be in that situation myself and I know there’s a lot of families, especially in Northern Alberta that are in need of aid that they can provide.”

Ronald McDonald House has homes located around the world that supports families seeking medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured child.

The purpose of the house is meant to provide a home-away-from-home for families who need to travel for medical reasons. The house is completely free to stay at and saves families thousands of dollars in expenses.

“The idea of having a safe place to stay and not having to worry about food, meals, or a hotel while you are in that time of crisis (is big),” said Sheppard.

Sheppard is hopeful people will bring their cars for a wash as they know their money will be going to a good cause.

“Stop in, wash your truck, and whatever we can do together to help any family in need here, that’s our plan.”

Sheppard says his shop will also accept donations online for those who don’t need their car washed.

He adds the shop is hoping to raise $5,000 to $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House. If all goes well, Sheppard mentioned he plans on doing more fundraising in the future.
