RCMP investigating fatal hit and run near Grande Cache

RCMP in Grande Cache are seeking information from the public which could help them identify those responsible in an alleged hit and run in a rural area east of the community which has left one man dead.

Police say they responded to a report of a man who was found in the ditch on Ghost Main Road at about 1:20 a.m. on March 14. The man who had suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, and the 36-year-old from Calgary was then transported by EMS to hospital.

However, he was pronounced dead soon after.

Police say the victim had been flushing pipeline along the east side of the ditch when he was hit by what RCMP have determined to be a vehicle. An RCMP Collision analyst and the Western Alberta District General Investigative Section are assisting with the on-going investigation.
