After just over a year on the job, Dr. Robert Murray has stepped down as the President and CEO of Grande Prairie Regional College.

A spokesperson for the college tells EverythingGP in an emailed statement that Dr. Murray has stepped down for personal reasons.

The statement goes on to say that effective Wednesday, former President and CEO at NAIT Dr. Glenn Feltham will assume the role on an interim basis as the college begins its search for a new leader.

“GPRC would like to thank Dr. Murray for his service and contributions over the last 15 months.”

Dr. Murray began serving as President and CEO of GPRC on December 1, 2019, after taking over from Don Gnatiuk. Murray became the ninth president in the college’s history.

“I am incredibly grateful to the College for having allowed me to serve,” Dr. Murray said in a social media post. “I am exceptionally proud of what we accomplished together during my time at the helm.

“I remain a steadfast believer in GPRC’s potential and will always cheer on the Wolves.”

Further details about Dr. Murray’s departure, or when the college plans to have a new permanent President and CEO in place, were not provided.
