Downtown Events Centre & Arena looking for new name

Mar 23, 2021 | 5:08 PM

The naming rights to the Downtown Events Centre and Arena, formerly known as Revolution Place, are currently up for bid by the City of Grande Prairie

The move comes after the Revolution Auto Group’s deal expired after six years.

“The City of Grande Prairie thanks Revolution Auto Group for their successful partnership over the past 6 years,” the city said in a release.

Currently, the arena is home to the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL and is one of the larger concert venues in the Peace Region. The venue holds 2,939 seats for sporting events and over 4,500 seats for concerts, as well as an 18,000 square foot Bowes Events Centre.

In 2019, the venue hosted 16 major concerts and 36 different events. In total, 327,307 guests passed through the gates.

Anyone interested in purchasing the naming rights to the Downtown Events Centre is asked to submit letters of interest to procurement@cityofgp.com.

A full list of the selection criteria and partnership terms can be found at the City of Grande Prairie website.
