24-hour gravel road ban in effect starting Saturday in County of Grande Prairie

Starting Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m., all County of Grande Prairie will have a 75 per cent axle weight road ban in effect 24 hours a day.

The County first instituted a ban on March 15, but only between the hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Road bans during spring thaw and inclement weather when gravel roads are especially vulnerable to damage.

A 24 hour per day road ban at 50 per cent axle weight is also in place on all gravel roads within the City of Grande Prairie. The MD of Greenview also has a 75 per cent axle weight road ban on its gravel roads from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
