MD of Spirit River trying to save local AFSC office

The MD of Spirit River is asking for support from ratepayers for an idea it has to keep an Agriculture Financial Services Corporation office in Spirit River.

AFSC announced earlier that it would be one of five one-employee locations to be closed as part of what it calls streamlining.

The MD is offering to house the office in the MD’s building at no cost. Officials say this would keep the service close by and save people driving to Fairview or Grande Prairie.

The post on the MD of Spirit River Facebook page is asking ratepayers who support this idea to contact AFSC or Alberta Agriculture.
