After being near the top of the league since the restart, the Grande Prairie Storm’s penalty killers hit a bit of a snag this weekend.
After giving up three power-play goals in Drayton Valley on Friday, the Storm gave up two more on Saturday in a 6-2 loss in Whitecourt for their third straight loss overall, and third loss in as many meetings with the Wolverines this season.
Ty Toews and Cooper Connell had power-play goals for the Storm, who trailed 1-0 and 3-0 at the period breaks.
After getting the night off on Friday, Joe Howe returned to the Storm net on Saturday, making 23 saves.
