Court update: Sentence in Valleyview fraud, trial dates set in Ridgevalley arson
Alberta Justice says a woman charged after fake bank accounts were used to steal money at the ATB branch in Valleyview has been given jail time and ordered to pay restitution.
Pamela-Ann Medlicott was given a 15-month jail sentence and ordered to pay $324,997.98 in restitution after pleading guilty to a charge of fraud over $5,000 on March 22 in Grande Prairie court.
RCMP said at the time that the fraud happened between January of 2014 and August of 2015, adding that an arrest was made in August of last year after what police termed a lengthy investigation.
Police say fake bank accounts were created using the names of actual and made-up clients. Close to $340,000 was taken.
