Grande Prairie RCMP arrest two, seize drugs during traffic stop

The Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has arrested two men from Grande Prairie following a traffic stop that led to a drug seizure.

On March 28, the CRU was conducting a curfew check at a home in Grande Prairie when they saw a suspicious vehicle pull into the driveway, drop off a passenger and then drive away.

The CRU then pulled that vehicle over, investigated, arrested the driver and found the following items:

  • Two firearms
  • Ammunition
  • 28 grams of Fentanyl
  • Seven grams of Cocaine
  • A small amount of Crystal Methamphetamine

The passenger who was dropped off at the home was also arrested..

Thirty-year-old Calvin Potter and 43-year-old Floyd Dick, both of Grande Prairie, have both been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Following judicial interim release hearings, Potter has been released from custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on May. 3. Dick has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 7.
