AJHL halts Storm, Thunder & Wolverines cohort activity following Drayton Valley positive COVID-19 test

Apr 1, 2021 | 12:36 PM

The Grande Prairie Storm’s regular-season games scheduled for this Easter weekend have been cancelled as a result of a positive COVID-19 case with a member of the Drayton Valley Thunder.

In a statement, the AJHL says as a result of the positive COVID-19 test in Drayton Valley, all team activities for the Grande Prairie Storm, Whitecourt Wolverines, and Thunder will be paused for the next 14 days.

The reason for the cancellation of the Storm and Wolverines activities has to do with the agreement put in place with Alberta Health Services. If any player or staff member of an AJHL cohort tests positive for COVID-19, all teams in that cohort is not allowed to participate in any team activities for the next two weeks.
